in 2022, i decided it was time to leave my job in advertising to go backpacking. i booked a one-way ticket to bangkok with no set itinerary and therefore all the freedom in the world. eventually i made my way south through the malay peninsula; through southern thailand and malaysia (where i got to paint a mural), to end up in singapore. after singapore, i spent 2 months wandering in south korea (where i left yet another mural).

this sketchbook was with me every step of the way and doubled as a scrapbook; collecting tickets, stickers, patches, notes and inspiration — besides a lot of illustrations. below you’ll find a selection of my sketchbook’s pages, plus some digital explorations.
