“quicksilver girl”
I like working on bigger pieces like this, usually for months at a time. They usually are a reflection of what is going on in my mind at that time, the individual elements often forming a psychedelic “soup”, contemplating a common idea. This work is about life, about fate, growth, acceptance, reluctance and immortality.
How is your life treating you, how are you treating yourself? Would you do it all over again, knowing everything will go exactly the way it has? this is the concept of nietzsche’s “formula for human greatness” — amor fati, a love of fate: “My formula for greatness in a human being is amor fati: that one wants nothing to be different, not forward, not backward, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it — all idealism is mendacity in the face of what is necessary — but love it.”
